Mezzo-Soprano, Maja Lisa FritzHuspen has sung numerous operatic roles and has been featured as a soloist with orchestras, in concerts and Oratorios. Performance venues include, Concert Opera Philadelphia, Opera Lancaster, Delaware Valley Opera Company, Manhattan Opera, Center City Opera Theatre, and Independence Symphonia. She has performed over 25 roles including Hansel (Hansel and Gretel), Orlofsky (Die Federmaus), Suzuki (Madame Butterfly), Meg (Falstaff), Bersi (Andrea Chénier), Dinah (Trouble in Tahiti), and 2nd lady (Magic Flute). Her soloist credits include Handel’s Messiah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.

Maja Lisa teaches privately at her home voice studio and at Muhlenberg College. This season includes being the Alto soloist for Bach’s Magnificat, and Schubert’s Magnificat as well as singing with Vox Amadeus Choir and concerts throughout the region. Maja Lisa will be bringing her magnificent performances of several shows to Open Hearts On Tour:

  • Broadway In Love (with Jeff McDonnell)

A pastiche of dazzling duets, Broadway In Love captures the nuances of love – in song. Join Mezzo Soprano, Maja Lisa FritzHuspen, diva extraordinaire, and our Musical Director, Jeff McDonnell on vocals and piano, for an afternoon or evening of musical romance and charm. Featuring favorite songs from: Annie Get Your Gun, The King and I, Oklahoma! and Hello Dolly.

  • Mezzo “Pants” Roles of Opera

Operatic Mezzo-sopranos get to play trouser roles in performance. This show examines the history and traditions of ‘pants’ roles. Maja Lisa FritzHuspen performs arias from roles as Hänsel, Siebel, Orlofsky, and Stéphano.

  • Mezzo Arias

Colorful Mezzo characters – from flirtatious chamber maid to heroine, from adventurous to mischievous, listen and learn about Opera’s Mezzo roles and arias. Maja Lisa FritzHuspen presents roles ranging from Bizet’s Carmen to Mozart’s Cherubino. Mezzo Arias features composers such as Mozart, Rossini, and Strauss.
